About

The time has finally arrived, the mounting pressure has paid its dividends and I have finally cracked, yes the blog has begun. I will take a lot of stick over this one because I said I would never do it, but when the nation calls you must answer.

This is me. I go by the nickname Pirlo, a nickname whose story I don’t feel like explaining all over again. I once studyed in UIBE, majoring in electronic business. I have been working as a part-time web developer for 6 years. In this time, I have learnt a great deal about web technologies and currently, I am working as an BI and ERP consultant in Digital China, cooperating with Oracle. I have quite deep sight into the Oracle BI solutions, familiar with the BIEE, Hyperion, ODI and Informatica. And I also quite understand the Microsoft BI production line, that is the SQL Server 2005 and newly released PerformancePoint Server 2007.  This site is here for me to share my experience and knowledge about everything interests me with the rest of the community.

Continuing with my career, I expanded my work to ERP area, which I think is the foundation of Enterprise tech-information processes in 2009. In this brand-new system, I focus on financial, of course for future better Hyperion consulting, and logistics which I think is also critically important to Chinese companies and easier for me to work with.

In three words: I’m smart, handsome, and confident (pick any two). I like music, photograph, football, swimming, computer technology, TV, women—-I’m a kinda average guy, if you think about it. But I do have strong convictions and sometimes they get me in real trouble.

I was born in 1983. That makes me fairly young, or fairly old, depending, naturally, on your age. Just so you know, I published my first post somewhere when I was 21.

Things that make me angry
I do not suffer fools gladly. I am inconsiderate to people who ask questions but don’t want to learn new things. I have a great deal of contempt for people who at least don’t tolerate reading or thinking for themselves. I am not a fan of people who drive slowly or poorly, especially when they take up the leftmost lane of the road (don’t they always?).

Things that encourage me
To be completely fair and balanced about me, I should recognize the following is true as well: I have admiration for people who think for themselves, people with strong moral values and convictions (even if they are in direct contradiction to mine), and people who read and illustrate themselves.

A couple more things I didn’t know where to file
Though my native language is Chinese, I speak, write and read English and French (English fluently, French not so much anymore).

Some people say a second or third language is not worth it. I have always looked down on people who have said that. Foreign languages are windows into different cultures, offering an entirely different mindset for us to learn. Even if you don’t get to use a foreign language in its birth country, you will still be gaining valuable insights and parallel ways of thinking. That alone is a persistent reminder of how important it is for an individual to grow as a person.

I hope you enjoyed this site as much as I enjoyed having you over.

Where am I?
At the moment, I live in Beijing but I am originally from Huangshan city, in the middle of China.

On with show……
